Uniqlo UT Pop-Up + Shoreditch Vintage Fair

I saw an ad for a Uniqlo Pop-up shop on Kingsland Rd sprayed out Guerrilla marketing style on the floor this week and thought I'd have a look - the event was partnered with Vice and promoted UT Camera and it's new range of T-shirts.

I liked the casual feel to the event, projections flashed up in the tunnel like bricks that made up the walls inside. A couple of people casually draped themselves in egg chairs, the foot fall was slight and steady making it easy to browse. The floor was cool too, was fly-posted with the Uniqlo campaign.

There have been music and art events on too although today was the last day so I'm glad I managed to go!

On the way back I accidentally fell into the Shoreditch Vintage Fair in Shoreditch Town Hall. Somehow I've never been inside the building - it's hauntingly beautiful and would be a great place for a photoshoot... or party. Either way the pale salmon pink and gold entablature clashed beautifully.

One of my favourite stalls was Wolf and Moon, a jewellery label started by Goldsmiths graduate Hannah Davis. She draws influence from her travels and creates glittery aztec pieces which are somehow chunky and delicate at the same time. They're also very affordable so i'd recommend that everyone checks her out here - http://www.wolf-and-moon.com/

Another great one sold Vintage clothing for kids! A lot of it I wished existed in bigger sizes, a very sweet idea for the savvy/ hipster parent. The colours and prints were great, I hate it when people dress children like little adults. These are clothes to get messy in and make cakes in and paint pictures in. Yummy.

Made in TW1 was really great too, although it initially appeared as a table full of beautiful things which have no real purpose other than to clutter strategically, but on closer examination there were some real finds and innovative ideas. Lovely mismatched saucers, glass bottles and vintage cutlery were placed on embroidered linens. The best part though had to be the wax candles set into fine bone china tea creating an original idea for candles.
Really thought this idea was great and may have to try it myself!

Hide and Seek Chic

As a fashion design student living in London I thought it was about time that I gave blogging a decent go, I've dabbled but I think it's time I put fingers to keys and tried hard to document the craziness and the laughs.

Hide and Seek Chic I guess is my way of illustrating and translating my personal style, my interests, loves and hates in the design world and any other adventures I may find myself embarking on. You could say it's an indirect metaphor of who I am and moreover what I wear.

Nearly all the clothes I own most likely  definitely belonged to someone else and I love that - I love things that tell a story, it makes them interesting. I'm also a bit of a child; somehow all my tights seem to have holes in before I wear them, I don't know if this is sheer bad luck or because I 'm always bouncing around or sitting on the floor somewhere. I think it's because I'm short, in my head I'm closer to the floor... I love tights though, and jackets- I think I own more of those than an other piece of clothing!

I'm a bit of a free spirit; I love running around free and half naked outside, although this isn't really feasible living in Bethnal Green but I'm sure I'll find a way around it! I love seeing and learning new things and meeting intriguing people with stories to tell.
So this is me, passing on my anecdotes and photos and insights and all that. Enjoy!
